Privacy Policy

Last updated 8 October 2026

Yappify turns a photo of your pet into a short talking video. This policy explains what information we collect to do that, why, who helps us, and what you can ask us to do with it. We have kept it as short as we could while still covering everything.

Who we are

Yappify (yappify.co) is operated by a company registered in the Republic of Lithuania, which is the controller of your personal data under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Company details are available on request.

For anything about your data, email hello@yappify.co.

What we collect

  • Your email address. This is your account. We use it to send your video, your sign-in codes and receipts.
  • Your pet photo and the line you write. We need both to make the video. Please upload photos of animals, not people.
  • The video we make.We keep it so you can come back to it, download it and share it. It is stored at a private, hard-to-guess web address that we don't list anywhere, but anyone you give that address or the video to can watch it.
  • Purchase history. What you bought, when, your credit balance and how you used it.
  • Payment details. Stripe handles these. Your card number never reaches our servers. We keep a Stripe customer reference, and if you choose to save a card, we see its brand, last four digits and expiry date so we can show you which card it is.
  • Technical data. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, for security and troubleshooting. We also collect anonymous visit statistics that do not use cookies and do not identify you.

We don't sell your data, we don't use it for advertising, and we don't use your photos or videos to train AI models.

Why we use it, and on what legal basis

  • To provide the service you pay for (performing our contract with you): making your video, taking payment, keeping your account, and sending you codes and notices about your videos.
  • To meet legal obligations: keeping payment and accounting records as tax and accounting law requires.
  • For our legitimate interests: keeping the service secure, preventing fraud and abuse, and understanding in aggregate how the site is used so we can improve it.

Who we share it with

We use service providers to run Yappify. They act on our behalf, only to provide the service, and each one receives only what it needs for its part of the work:

  • Payment processor: payments, receipts and fraud prevention
  • Database and storage provider: your account, your photos and videos, and sign-in
  • AI providers: generating your video. They receive your photo and your line.
  • Email provider: sending your codes and videos
  • Hosting provider: running the website and anonymous visit statistics

If you want to know exactly which companies these are, email hello@yappify.co and we will tell you.

Some of these providers are based in the United States or process data there. Where data leaves the European Economic Area, we rely on the safeguards the law provides for this, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

We may also disclose data if the law requires us to, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.

How long we keep it

  • Your account, photos and videos: for as long as you have an account. Ask us to delete them and we will.
  • Payment and accounting records: for as long as tax and accounting law requires, even after you close your account.
  • Sign-in codes: each one expires shortly after we send it.
  • Server logs: a limited period, set by our hosting provider.

Cookies

We only use cookies the site needs to work, so we don't ask for consent to them:

  • Sign-in cookies keep you signed in.
  • A video-access cookie lets the browser you paid in show you the video before you have signed in. It lasts 30 days.
  • Stripe's cookies are set on checkout pages to prevent fraud.

We don't use advertising or tracking cookies, and we don't let anyone else follow you across websites through ours. So a browser's "Do Not Track" setting has nothing to switch off here, and we treat every visit the same way.

Your rights

You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, or send it to you in a portable format. You can also object to the processing we base on our legitimate interests. Email hello@yappify.co from the address on your account, and we will reply within one month.

If you think we have mishandled your data, you can complain to a data protection authority. In Lithuania, that is the State Data Protection Inspectorate (vdai.lrv.lt). You can also complain to the authority in the country where you live. We'd appreciate the chance to fix it first, though.

Children

Yappify is not meant for children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has given us their data, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

All connections to Yappify are encrypted. Access to customer data is restricted, and we rely on well-established providers for payments and storage. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach puts your data at risk, we will tell you as the law requires.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will also email you before it takes effect.
